I was introduced to the world of showing dogs in AKC conformation events by my
parents and their breeder friends. I helped show Collies from the ages of 13-19
in Junior Handling and regular conformation events as well as Obedience events
through AKC. I wanted the same breed I grew up with when I decided to start
showing myself as an adult, but decided that a smaller breed with a lot less coat
to take care of (especially out in the heat of the desert) would be better, but that
breed had to have that same loving temperament I was used to with the Collies,
so the search began.
I later found the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Cavaliers are just that and more;
always happy, tails wagging, get along well with anyone be it animal or human
and always willing to please. They are truly an enjoyable breed to own and show!
We, the Mount Family, live in Ridgecrest, CA. That's in the high desert North of
Mojave where it gets 115 degrees (or more) in the hottest part of the summer and
can be 20 degrees (or less at times) in the coldest parts of winter. We live in a
single family home with a large fenced yard that is partially paved and partially
grass. Our Cavaliers enjoy daily romps in the yard and ball playing along with
walks around our block. We do not own a kennel! Our dogs use a doggie door to
come and go as they please during the day and are raised as part of our family.
They love car rides and of course, the occasional drive through the coffee shop
for a "mocha cookie" (as they like to hear it called), is right up there on their list of
best places to go. (We don't tell them it's really just a dog biscuit.)
We hope to continue to add to our family of Cavaliers over the next several years
to improve our line as well as hoping to breed a nice show pup. Our adults are all
health tested for heart and eye issues by specialists yearly and we only breed to
health tested males. We currently have one female that is AKC pointed to date
and a new show hopeful who will go out sometime next year if all goes as
planned.
All puppies are sold with a 2 year MVD health guarantee. All of our puppies are
beautiful, well rounded, and come to you well socialized, and healthy. All are
sleeping in a crate and come with age appropriate shots and worming, a vet
record and are starting to use a doggie door as well as using a potty box. All
puppies have been vet checked for Patella issues as well. All deposits are
NON-REFUNDABLE!!
All of our puppies are sold on a spay/neuter agreement with limited AKC
registration (no breeding rights). We may have the occasional show puppy
available to an approved show home only. If you are not a show home and don't
intend to show your puppy, Please don't ask for breeding rights, as they won't be
given.
